Beth Stone-Ehrhardt began to study bodywork after being hit by a car in a cross-walk and undergoing her own soft-tissue recovery journey. She attended the Colorado School of Healing Arts and became a licensed massge therapist in 2003. She studied Myofascial Release (MFR) with John F. Barnes and Til Luchau, two pioneers in the field. Her therapy style is equal parts scientific reasoning and mystical intuition. For years she volunteered and worked professionally with hospice organizations to treat the ill and dying. That work deeply informed her ability to comfort those in trauma. Studying Cranial Sacral Therapy and Healing Touch taught her to respect the body's subtle rythms. She is adept at incorporating various healing therapies into sessions including: energy work, trigger point therapy, MFR, cupping therapy, hot stones and Chi Nei Tsang abdominal work. Ever a student of our incredible, human physicality, Beth studies and practices the long, Yang style Tai Chi form taught by Taoist monk and Master Moy Lin-Shin.
Integrative Massage Therapy is Beth’s mix of massage therapy, essential oils (if appropriate), cranial work, stretching, energy healing and warm stones (if applicable). It’s a top-10 mash-up of massage techniques designed to promote healing, soothe and address your current needs of the day. For this modality, you will be asked to disrobe to your comfort level and lie underneath a sheet and blanket; you will be draped at all times. This is a light to medium-plus touch treatment. If you need deep work, please select the “Clinical” option instead.
Swedish Massage Therapy as we know it today was developed by Swedish gymnast and athlete Per Heinrik Ling in the early 1800’s. Long, sweeping strokes, accompanied by kneading, tapping, friction and rocking soothe your nervous system. For this modality, you will be asked to disrobe to your comfort level and lie underneath a sheet and blanket. You will be draped at all times. This type of massage is wonderful if you prefer light to medium touch and deep relaxation.
Deep Tissue/Clinical Massage treatment is best to treat a defined or a specific issue. During this treatment, Beth will ask you to breathe deeply as she works to discover the root cause of your pain or dysfunction. Tools in Beth’s clinical tool kit include; Myofascial Release—a system of holds targeting the connective tissue; Neuromuscular Therapy—this system uses cross-friction and tools to address referral points, targeted massage therapy and sports massage. For this treatment you will be asked to disrobe to your comfort level and lie under a sheet and blanket. You will be draped at all times. You may be asked to bring a pair of shorts and a sports bra for treatment if your issue requires it. Please ask when booking. Clinical Massage is a medium to deep touch treatment.
Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST) gently adjusts the bones of the cranium, sacrum and tissues surrounding the spinal column to modulate cerebrospinal fluid and relieve pressure on nerves and other body structures. CST is a gentle, indirect, non-invasive, deep method of work which may help relieve headaches, lower back pain, jaw issues, neck pain, sciatica and more. Beth employs a combination of visionary cranial sacral, myofascial and Upledger techniques to create a unique healing experience. For this therapy, please wear light, loose clothing without seams (no jeans) or metal fasteners. Yoga pants or cloth shorts and a sports bra work well. This is a light to medium touch treatment.
Cupping Therapy can treat soft tissue issues that do not respond to usual massage therapy. Beth uses silicone as well as plastic vacuum cups to lift and separate or decompress soft tissues. Cupping can be mildly lymphatic and is not for everyone. It can leave temporary marks on the skin. For this modality you will be asked to disrobe to your comfort level and lie under a sheet and blanket. You will be draped at all times. Pressure for this treatment varies.
